Operations Manager Resume Guide: Skills and Examples

An operations manager resume should identify the operation you ran, the resources you controlled and the service or delivery standards you worked toward. A warehouse, service team and manufacturing operation need different evidence even when the job title is the same.

Explain a process improvement from constraint to handover

Describe a recurring operational problem such as a backlog, unreliable handoff or scheduling constraint. Explain how you investigated it, which teams were involved and what changed in the working process. If you report productivity or cost savings, include the measurement period and distinguish recurring savings from a one-off reduction. Show how the improvement was maintained through training, ownership or reporting.

Illustrative bullet: Redesigned the daily handoff between scheduling and field teams, introduced an exception queue with named owners and reviewed unresolved jobs at the morning planning meeting.

Avoid attributing all business performance to a process change or using Lean and Six Sigma as credentials you do not hold. Explain whether you applied a method, attended training or earned a certification.

Understanding parsing and keyword searches

Greenhouse documents resume parsing as filling candidate-profile fields, and keyword search as a recruiter feature. These are different operations. Its guidance lists formatting issues that can interfere with parsing; a failed parse can require manual correction. This does not establish a universal rejection rate or scoring formula across employers.
