Mark the responsibilities and requirements

Save the posting and separate required qualifications from preferences. Identify the work the successful candidate will actually perform. Do not treat every repeated word as a requirement.

For each important item, write down a real example from employment, projects or training. Label the setting accurately. A gap can remain a gap; editing cannot create experience you do not have.

Select evidence and explain the connection

Give more space to relevant contributions and less to unrelated detail. Use the posting terminology when it accurately describes the same work, but preserve actual job titles and responsibilities.
