Can an ATS Detect an AI-Written Resume?
You cannot determine an employer AI policy or detection setup from an ATS name alone. Focus on truthful content, the application instructions and any stated rules on using AI.
Separate detection from parsing and screening
Parsing a resume, applying rules to form answers and assessing authorship are different tasks. The Greenhouse references below describe parsing and application rules; they do not establish whether a particular employer uses a separate AI detector.
We do not have a verified adoption rate or a reliable way to infer an employer configuration from a rejection email. Avoid treating claims that all ATS detect AI, or that none can, as universal facts.
Check the policy and the substance
Follow any instructions about AI assistance in the application. If disclosure is requested, answer honestly. Do not use rewriting techniques to conceal a prohibited practice.
Even when drafting assistance is allowed, verify every title, date, qualification and result. A polished paragraph is unhelpful if it changes your actual contribution or adds experience you do not have.
Review an AI draft like any other draft
Keep your original evidence beside the revision. Replace generic assertions with specific work examples and remove invented metrics. Make sure you could explain every line in an interview.
