Procurement analyst resume: keywords, bullets and ATS tips

Procurement analysts turn purchasing data into savings and better supplier decisions. Recruiters want evidence that you can analyse spend, support sourcing events and track supplier performance, plus the systems you've done it in.

Keywords to mirror where true

Spend analysis, spend cube, category management, strategic sourcing, RFI/RFQ/RFP, tender evaluation, supplier performance, KPIs, SLAs, contract management, cost savings and cost avoidance, purchase-to-pay (P2P), purchase orders, supplier onboarding, risk assessment, should-cost modelling, Excel, Power BI, SQL, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, CIPS.

Example bullets

  • Built a spend cube covering [X] suppliers, identifying consolidation opportunities in [category].
  • Ran RFQs for [category], comparing bids on total cost of ownership rather than unit price.
  • Created a supplier scorecard in Power BI tracking on-time delivery and quality against SLAs.
  • Cleaned and classified [X] months of P2P data to support a category strategy review.
  • Tracked delivered savings against target and reported monthly to the procurement lead.

Swap each [X] and [category] for your real details.

Procurement vs supply chain analyst

Supply chain analyst roles focus on inventory, demand and logistics; procurement analyst roles focus on what you buy, from whom and on what terms. If you've done both, lead with the side the advert emphasises and use its exact title in your headline.

ATS tips

  • List your e-procurement systems by name; many adverts filter on SAP Ariba or Coupa.
  • Write CIPS level in full, for example "CIPS Level 4 Diploma (studying)".
  • Keep a single column and standard headings.
  • Use "savings" and "cost avoidance" separately; recruiters treat them differently.

Before you apply

Read the advert twice: once for the duties and once for the exact words it uses. Where your experience matches, use the same wording in your summary and bullets, so both the ATS and the recruiter can see the fit at a glance. Leave out anything you can't talk through confidently at interview.
